We run a semi structured, full, and exciting high quality educational programme, built around developmental needs and interests including teacher initiated themes. People and cultures, places and things are explored through teachers’ close observations and knowledge of the children and their families. Te Whariki is our guiding document for our curriculum.

We have a high teacher to child ratio supporting play and work interactions between teachers and children. Children are supported to mix with different age groups through their own choice or teacher initiated activities throughout the sessions. We support and expect each child to learn to play respectfully with other children.

All sessions provide a wide range of play and work opportunities for art and craft, carpentry, and dramatic play, music, reading and writing, maths and science. Our outdoor areas provide for free interactive play such as at the sand pit, monkey bar, ball games, wooden planks and swings etc.

Rocket programme is specifically set up for ‘Get ready for school’ programme. Our curriculum for this is based on early numeracy and literacy through both teacher initiated and child directed. Technology is also included for example, where children take photos using cameras and inserted onto the computer to tell their stories.
