| | TRANSITION TO SCHOOL PROGRAMME
“Rockets” 11.45 – 3.15pm
Our afternoon session is called "The Rockets" as they soon will be blasting off to school.
This programme is developed to prepare your child the best we can for the school environment.
We believe if children can be confident emotional and socially they will settle better at school.
Our programme includes:
� Lunch time providing them to learn self-care skills.
� Design, planning, problem solving, construction
� Alphabet
� Sounds of the letters
� Extended letter and number recognition.
� Early reading
� Group activities
� Trips outside of centre – local schools, library, gym, Museum, etc
� Writing
� Names and basic words extending into story writing
� Two structured mat times that encourage children's full participation.
� Social and emotional development.
� Introduction to writing using Casey the Caterpillar.
This session also provides opportunities for children to explore music, science, language, arts and crafts, dramatic play, puzzles, mathematics, sand and water play, manipulative skills and large and fine motor skills.
